With great sadness we share that Mrs. Redick, the founder of Conservatory Ballet, passed away on April 18, 2021. In honor of her, Conservatory Ballet is accepting donations for the on-going scholarship fund, or for general use. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Julia Cziller Redick, 76, of Herndon, Virginia passed away Sunday, April 18, at Virginia Hospital Center from complications after a heart attack. She is survived by her three children, Darren, Jared, and Alexia and grandchildren, Alana, Oliver, and Hugh. In 1956, with her mother and grandmother, Julia arrived in the United States from Budapest, Hungary, following the Hungarian Revolution. She followed in her mother’s footsteps as a ballet dancer and teacher, creating her own legacy in Columbia, MD, and Reston, VA, with the Conservatory Ballet. Over more than five decades, Julia taught thousands of children, with some continuing on to dance with some of the most prestigious ballet companies of the world, including the Boston Ballet, English National Ballet, and Mariinsky Ballet. Donations may be made in Julia’s honor to the non-profit Conservatory Ballet Foundation.
