Studio Rules & Policies

Studio Etiquette

As a student of Conservatory Ballet, there is a high standard of professional behavior for you to follow. Proper practice of ballet etiquette will enhance your study and personal development in and out of the dance studio.

Just remember, as a student of ballet you are to always remain…

Prepared

A big part of student responsibility is to be prepared for class. This means coming to class properly dressed and prepared to rehearse.

Focused

Once class begins it is important to remain focused on the task at hand and have an overall dedication to learning and growing as a dancer. This will build a strong sense of purpose for you and shows respect for your classmates and teachers.

Productive

Be productive with your time both before and after class. We understand that there are other priorities in life such as school and family. But as a ballet student, it is important to consider taking steps to remain productive outside of class.

The following rules have been put in place to ensure the environment at Conservatory Ballet is safe for all persons and is conducive to the students’ learning and development.

  • Remain quiet in the hallways and when class is in session
  • Engage in learning at all times
  • Support your fellow classmates
  • Prepare yourself mentally and physically
  • Elevate to the challenge
  • Commit to excellence
  • Together we can accomplish anything

Cancellation Policy

In the event of a class being cancelled, the students in the Children’s, Adult, and Conservatory Training Program will be notified by e-mail with at least 24 hours notice. Conservatory Ballet does not offer refunds, credits, or transfers. If a class is cancelled, students are encouraged to make up any missed classes. Please log on to the parent portal or inquire with the front desk to schedule make-ups.

We take attendance very seriously, so if you are unable to attend a class for any reason we ask that you please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. As part of our efforts to keep everyone safe, we ask that students attend only their scheduled classes, and to make arrangements with our staff should they need to attend a different class for any reason.

FAQ

General

We recognize the importance of working closely with parents in order to establish the needs of our individual students. Open communication between parents and teachers is the best way to unlock the potential in every student.

Parents are expected to support their child’s dance education. We expect our students to arrive on time for their classes with proper, clean attire and hair supplies, be rested, in good health, with nutritional support before aerobic work (i.e. not hungry because they did not get a snack after school).

A safe and positive studio environment is conducive to teaching, learning, and having fun — and is essential to our success!

Registration

Many factors help determine the best class placement for our prospective students including age, focus, experience, and professionalism. In an effort to find the best placement level in our school, we invite prospective students to either complete the New Student Inquiry form on our website or email or call the office directly to set up a free evaluation appointment. A staff member will respond to you promptly to answer your questions and guide you through the placement and registration process.
